Los Angeles

My trip to LA was the perfect mini-vacation. I was able to spend time with a good friend from college and lots of quality time with my mom. To her surprise, and mine, the only shopping we did was at the Los Angeles Central Library.

Seriously, how beautiful is that globe chandelier? I wish I could have a smaller version in my house someday. The library was one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever been in and I really enjoyed the hour we spent there.

And I'm pretty sure the gift shop was something invented in my dreams. So many things I've coveted for years in one space. But I'll post about those later this week.

In the meantime, I'd love to hear where your favorite libraries are...

Museum and library stores drive me crazy- in the good way! I'm always attracted to something and start making my way to it when my eye catches something else... This repeats itself a couple of times.

It looks like such a beautiful library!
I recently went to "Fondo de Cultura Economica" in Mexico City- it was wonderful. I'm dying to go to "EL Ateneo" in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It's an old theater turned into a bookstore. Not a library, but still full of books :)

Ooh I love shopping for books :) We don't have any good libraries where I am, but we do have a huge Waterstones (book shop) that has a coffee shop inside, and encourages you to 'try before you buy' with a cup of coffee/tea. I love it :) x

Mariana, I would also love to go see "El Ateneo". I think its a great excuse to make my first trip to Argentina.

Sami, I know what you mean. I do not spend enough time at the Chicago libraries, either.

Charlotte, I love the 'try before you buy' idea at a bookstore!
