Fictitious Dishes Looks Delicious

We may all act like we're sick of food photos, but let's drop the charade. We love those Instagrams. The proof is in the number of photo series that go viral and the number of books we scoop up for our coffee tables.

Like this gem from Harper Design, Fictitious Dishes: An Album of Literature's Most Memorable Meals.

Can you tell which meal each photograph represents? You can find out at FictitiousDishes.com.

My favorite, just because I'm still trekking through it, is from Moby Dick.

Thank you Dinah Fried for creating this beautiful book.

And thank you for sharing this view behind-the-scenes.

You can listen to a short interview with Dinah Fried over on NPR about the book. I suggest it. (p.s. I've been binging on Fresh Air interviews during my commutes. Can't stop, won't stop.)

What are you favorite food blogs? I'm dying to make this Cold Brew Coffee Float.

I love the subtle tones on this bookshelf.

I'd love to see these images on book covers.

Lemme take a selfie
