Figured It Out

Remember that library ladder I saw at the Art Institute of Chicago?

Well my member magazine came in the mail today and it just happened to be the featured new acquisition.

William France Jr.'s Badminton House Library ladder from the 18th-century is definitely one of my favorite parts of the Art Institute now.

I'm having a very library-accented weekend so far.

First, my dad came to visit and brought along the Three Potato Four library sign he gave me for Christmas. Despite an apartment full of books, I decided to hang it above the tv (yes, I am soo funny). Then we spent the afternoon at the Art Institute of Chicago. Having a membership means I've made dozens of visits over the past year. But somehow, I never saw this amazing library ladder. I've searched online in the museum collections but can't find its maker anywhere (please tell me if you know who made it!)

PIG 05049

"Pig 05049" is a book by Christien Meindertsma that tracks all the parts from a single pig used to make different products. I saw "Pig 05049" at the Art Institute of Chicago today and thought it was such a fascinating concept. The book is really well put-together, too.

Miniatures

I love the miniatures rooms at the Art Institute of Chicago. Since I have a membership to the museum now, I spent a lot of time looking at the little libraries.
