I was hesitant to read James Frey's My Friend Leonard, and not just because he "duped" Oprah with A Million Little Pieces. I think any memoir is non-fiction to the person writing it. Experiences are viewed differently from each person's point of view and its impact varies on each of those people. And a good story is a good story. So I wasn't holding any of that against Frey. Honestly I thought it just kind of sounded like a downer. But I gave it a chance and I'm really glad I did

New Shelves!
Okay, so I've been living in Chicago for about three months now and finally got around to finding an acceptable bookcase for my bedroom. It doesn't even hold half of my books but it's better than nothing. AND it fits perfectly in a little corner near my windows. (To view larger, just click the image)
My Updike Collection
Sometimes a row of simple spines beats busy jacket spines. For example, the John Updike books I have lined-up on my vanity. I like how the uniform spine design looks across the different colors.
